blind in texas

(Like me, my dear reader, I am quite certain you never imagined I'd find a way to begin a rant with a reference to a W.A.S.P. song that wasn't "F**k Like a Beast". But here we are. . . )

I just saw this frightening pinhead, Don McLeroy, interviewed on Colbert. Why he agreed to do it will, like the Universe, forever remain a mystery. It was one of the most awkward and edited interviews on Colbert I think I've seen. I can only imagine it was an effort to stage some sort of counter offensive to this new documentary:

Oh, how I long for the days when the Ewings were the biggest thing that made Texans look like ignorant arrogant self-righteous pricks.

"Look around us and look at nature, look at all the plants the complexity, look at us, look at our hand. It used to be you would look out and you would see the God that created it all. And now, people walk outside and see blind purposeless nothingness."

You're staring at plants and fascinated by the complexity of your hand? Cripes man, how fucking high on psychedelics are you? Been there, done that, got the fuck over it. Blind purposeless nothingness? No. Not in my world.

"My sense of God is my sense of wonder about the Universe" - Albert Einstein

Mine too.

"My religion says that we are created in the image of God."

Really? Mine says you should blow me. So drop to your knees and let's get this over with. Wait. What? You don't agree? You don't think I should impose my religious beliefs upon you?

Ditto.
